The Yamini Cancer Foundation is a leading organization in India dedicated to raising cancer awareness, empowering patients, facilitating early diagnosis, and providing support to those affected by the disease. Founded by renowned actress and breast cancer survivor Hamsa Nandini, the Foundation leverages her journey through breast cancer treatment and her role as the ‘Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Awareness & Motivation’ appointed by the International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) to position itself as an influential figure in the fight against cancer.

Through its four core programs – Yamini Educate, Yamini Empower, Yamini Cancer Diagnostics, and Yamini Support – the Foundation aims to create a lasting impact on the lives of individuals affected by cancer. To implement these programs, the Foundation collaborates with nonprofit and for-profit organizations that possess domain expertise in grassroots access, education, website maintenance, diagnostic center management etc. Some initiatives operate as for-profit ventures with tiered pricing while others are not-for-profit.

MOU signing between Yamini Cancer Foundation & FOT

Ms. Hamsa Nandini had a very productive meeting with Dr. Arun Sawant, President & Dr. Pheroza Godrej, President Emeritus of The Society of the Friends of the Trees to sign an MOU between the Yamini Cancer Foundation & FOT to collaborate on projects that will educate people of the correlation between the depletion of the environment and increased occurrence of cancers. Both entities will also jointly work on publishing a list of all known carcinogenic which are commonly found in everyday products.

The Society of the Friends of the Trees

Ms. Hamsa was invited as a chief guest for the annual gathering of The Society of the Friends of the Trees (FOT), where she spoke about her valiant fight with breast cancer to inspire other cancer warriors. She also had the honour of felicitating Dr. Pheroza Godrej for her undying commitment to the environment. Hamsa also spoke about the need for conserving our green cover as it is the biggest deterrent against environmental cancers.

Prashanti Cancer Care Mission

On the occasion of world cancer day, Prashanti Cancer Care Mission in Pune had organised an event to promote Genetic Breast Cancer awareness. Ms. Hamsa was invited as a special guest to address the August gathering and share her story. Ms. Laleh Busheri, Founder of PCCM also launched her book titled ‘Genetic Testing’ A game Changer in Breast Cancer Management. In the book there is an entire chapter dedicated to Hamsa Nandini and her fight against breast cancer.

The International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO)

Ms. Hamsa Nandini had a very productive meeting with Dr. Nem Singh Premi, Chairman of The International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) to sign an MOU between the Yamini Cancer Foundation & IHRO to collaborate on projects related to cancer awareness and early cancer diagnostics especially for the underserved section of the Indian society.
